A Child's Garden

The San Felipe Tequila Festival 2010 is sponsoring A Child's Garden Organization.

A Child's Garden is a foundation working to help poor and disabled children and their parents in the community of San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. The foundation was set up by Kenneth Whitmore and Bonny McNair who are also the main benefactors. The foundation runs a free physical therapy clinic in San Felipe and is equipping a small hospital with operating theatre and overnight stay facilities. The public hospital in San Felipe closed down some years ago and there is little in the way of alternate medical facilities in the town.

The board of directors of the foundation are: Dr. Victor Abasolo Tellez, Katherine Hammontre, Dr. Felix Antonio Rodriguez Novone and Nora Hemandez F, Belia Flores, Antonio Miranda and Rigoberio Morko. Dr. Abasolo is the physician in charge of patients whose treatment is financed by the foundation. All the foundations directors are long time residents of San Felipe, some born here, but are all honest families that helped with their skill and dedication to their hometown and the poor and the handicapped or special persons in this small town. All are active in churches, and other organizations, and do numerous deeds for the betterment of San Felipe.
